Advocacy and Policy Support at Life Net Recovery Foundation focuses on a hard truth: many people are not failing the system-the system is failing them. We walk alongside individuals and families who are tangled in rules, forms, and agencies that feel impossible to navigate alone.
On a personal level, that can look like helping someone understand housing restrictions, probation conditions, benefits applications, or treatment requirements. We slow down the language, outline options, and sometimes join calls or meetings so people are not facing institutions by themselves.
On a broader level, we gather patterns from these stories and bring them to community conversations, task forces, and policy discussions. When we see the same barriers hurting people again and again-like residency rules that keep those in recovery homeless-we speak up. Our goal is not simply to help one person get through a maze, but to help redraw the maze so fewer people get stuck in the first place.
